About this dictionary

This is a trilingual dictionary of Great Andamanese, an endangered language of the Andaman Islands. Entries are recorded in Great Andamanese (in IPA and in Devanagari), with English and Hindi glosses, audio pronunciations, and pictures.

The dictionary was originally compiled and exported as a static website using Lexique Pro 3.6 on 16 January 2018. This modern homepage was added to make the dictionary searchable and mobile-friendly; the underlying entry pages remain as they were generated.

Audio recordings were contributed by speakers of the language. Some browsers may prompt before playing audio; if playback fails, the original entry page still links to the source .wav file directly.
